Call for Sites: Help Shape the Future of Offenham
As a key contributor to the local economy, your perspective on the future of Offenham is vital. We are entering a critical phase in the development of the Offenham Neighbourhood Plan, a legal document that, once adopted, will carry significant weight in determining how land is used and how businesses operate within our parish.
To ensure the Plan reflects the practical realities of our local industries-from our historic horticultural roots to our growing community of home-based entrepreneurs-we invite you to a targeted consultation evening.
Event Details
- Date: Thursday 16th April 2026
- Time: 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM
- Location: Offenham Royal British Legion, Main Street, Offenham WR11 8QD
We are currently in a vital phase of developing the Offenham Neighbourhood Plan, and we need to hear from our local landowners. To ensure our plan is robust and based on clear evidence, we are formally launching a "Call for Sites."
This is an invitation for landowners and agents to submit land within the parish to be considered for future use. Whether it is for housing, business, or protecting our natural environment, your input helps ensure that future development meets the actual needs of our community.
What Kind of Land Are We Looking For?
We are looking to identify sites that could be suitable for:
- Residential Development: Including much-needed affordable housing.
- Employment: Land for business use to support local jobs.
- Community Facilities: Space for infrastructure or new amenities.
- Local Green Space: Areas that deserve specific protection from development.
How the Assessment Works
Once the submission window closes, every site will undergo an independent technical assessment. This process checks for sustainability and deliverability-essentially seeing if the land is actually viable for its proposed use-in line with national and local planning policies.
Note: Submitting a site for assessment does not guarantee it will be allocated in the final Plan or receive Parish Council support. Sites that meet the required technical thresholds will be presented to the community for public consultation later this year.
How to Submit Your Site
To be considered for the technical assessment, you must complete a site submission form for each individual plot. Your submission must include:
- A clear Ordnance Survey location map with the site boundaries outlined in red.
- Details of any known constraints (such as access issues, flooding, or legal covenants).
- The proposed use and the approximate capacity of the site.
The deadline for all submissions is 31st of May 2026.
